Are rapists misbehaving because they have an overpowering and uncontrollable sex urge?

Dr. M. L. Cohen of Boston University says that rapists show primarily serious defects in social skill, low moral standards, deficient impulse control, and sexual fixations at an infantile level. One group of rapists used sexual behavior in the service of aggressive impulses. In a second group the person's motivation was sexual with aggression as a secondary motive. Thus rape was not due to an overpowering sex impulse at all. In a few cases the act of rape was a defense against the homosexual wish.
